My name is Dasha Sulimoff, and I was born originally as Darya Sulimova in Odessa, Ukraine on April 15th, 1995. I have lived in Ukraine until the age of 6, when we moved to Auckland, New Zealand to have a better life. Living in New Zealand, I was introduced to the game of tennis when I was 7. And because of my enthusiasm for the game, my parents gave me a chance to train on a whole new level, so I would have a better chance at achieving my goal to be a tennis champion and world number one. So in Autumn of 2005, we moved to Florida, USA to begin my long journey on the road to success. And we have lived here ever since. You will find some very interesting facts about my life on this website. Enjoy!

I was a very smart baby who knew the names of some common animals and the names of my parents and grandparents. I was a pretty quiet child who liked to look through books with pictures, play with my toys, explore my surroundings and be with the people closest to me. I liked to learn new things there, and I didn't like napping in the daytime. I remember we almost always rehearsed dancing and singing there, and then had concerts where our parents would come and watch us and also film us on camera. I went to school for the first time when I was nearing my 7th birthday. My first school was very close to my house, so I could easily walk to school and back without my parents driving me there. Since we just moved from Ukraine, I only knew a couple of words in English and it took me a little while to get used to the language. But I of course got the hang of it and was doing great in my studies. When we moved to a new house, I was enrolled in a new school and skipped two grades, which put me in 3rd grade when I was 7 years old! And I was one of the top students at my school until we moved to America. I was ten years old, a top student at school and then, it happened. Me and my family were moving to America! Since I was having some very good progress in my tennis game, my parents told me we would be moving to America, but only if I wanted to train to be a professional tennis player. And I of course said "yes" to such a fantastic opportunity. We moved to Florida in October and settled in the little town of Deerfield Beach. We immediately set out to find a place where they train kids to play tennis, and I was enrolled at a New Zealand home-school for the very first time. I have become a professional tennis player at 14 years old. I am mostly training these days, and I have graduated from high school.
